Corsican Polyphonies

Workshop lead by Julie Foisil

Dates: Thursday 12th July to Sunday 15th July
Time: 9.30am -13.30pm and 2pm-4.30pm

Workshop open to all
This workshop will allow you to become more familiar with Corsican Polyphonies which are both sacred and profane.  The songs “paghjella”, cover subjects such as love of shepherds, the attachments to the native land and war.
The sacred songs will be chosen from the French liturgical repertoire of the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries.

Each day will begin with exercises where the participants listen to each other and by other exercises which will be adapted to the level of the group.  The various exercises will be simple and progressive.
The workshop will end with a return of the work to a familiar audience at the Espace Ravi Prasad.
